Educational Experiences


 I am  currently working on getting my degree in Bilingual Education with a concentration in EC to sixth grade. The reason I want to be an educator is to help students achieve there goals and to make a difference in their life they same way they will impact my life. As a future teacher I will have a great responsibility to construct a healthy environment, in which all students feel comfortable and safe. Also including all of my students in the activities an motivate them. Working with diverse children has been a great experience in which I have learn they are capable of doing amazing thing. They have showed me to love more my teaching carrier because they always show enthusiasm when they learn and accomplish something new. 

My Cultural Identity

  1. The three identities that are more important to me are being a daughter, a sister and being respectful.
  2. The identity that is shaped by the values of my cultural membership is of being a Mexican-American, because this has given me the opportunity to explore and know both cultures. Being a Mexican- American also gave me the opportunity to learn both languages and dominate them equally.
  3. The identity in which I feel more comfortable is being a daughter, because I feel safe. Being a daughter gives me the opportunity to have my parents as my best friends, and my mentors. With them I am able to be myself and I am able to feel comfortable to tell them my aspirations in life knowing that they will support my decisions and are never going to judge me.
  4. The identity that I feel more proud of is being sensitive, because I am able to comprehend other people more easily. Although some people would think that being sensitive is a sign of weakness I see it as a virtue because it empowers me to help other people.
  5. The identity that I feel less comfortable is being a shy person, because it is really hard for me to express myself in public. When I have to give a speech or a presentation I feel insecure and this makes me make mistakes. Being shy also make me believe that people are going to laugh of me when I make a mistake, but I am working in this and I believe I have make process and now I am able to feel a little more comfortable speaking in public.
  6. If someone wanted to find out more about me they should just talk to me in a respectful and friendly manner. I am very friendly and I am open to make new friends and I like to help people with what I can. I really value friendship and I know how to listen to people and I believe that I am good at giving advice. I believe that as a future teacher I have to be open to meet new people and make friends to help each other and sharing teaching strategies, also knowing how to respect each other to make work more comfortable.
